While we mourn the death
of our beloved Mark, we are
secure in the peace of knowing he carried out his mission in the most
courageous way possible. Marine Lance Cpl. Mark Engel valiantly defended
freedom and served his country's highest wishes with the Light Armored
Reconnaissance Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force,
Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Mark, 21, was injured as a result of enemy action
on July 6, 2004, in Al Anbar Province, Iraq, and later died on July 21, 2004,
at Brooke Army Medical Center in Houston, TX.
We will never forget him. Mark will continue his mission in our hearts forever,
as a warm and loving son,
a brother, a friend - and a hero.
